Expand Video Shoots with 10 Passive Income Tips

10 tips to expand your content shooting day and earn more passive income on the content you create.

Creating content is about more than just setting up a camera and pressing record; there are layers to content creation that revolve around your output and productivity to turn what can be a "simple video" into multiple pieces of high converting content that can provide more passive income and better marketing materials.

From getting ready to film, to actually pressing record, and on to editing and promotion - there are multiple little tweaks and steps that you can try adding to your regular content creation routine to expand your video shoots. Here are 10 tips for expanding your shoots:

10 Tips for Expanding Your Video Shoots

The goal in expanding your shoot isn't to take away quality or content from your original planned video but to create more content that aligns with what you were already trying to create. The additional content can be used in marketing efforts to increase the amount of fans that view and connect with your content.

  1.  Take a Photoset Before You Film ➡️ Photosets are a great piece of content that will help you get warmed up and into character, test out angles before recording a full-length video, and provide marketing material for you to utilize on social media or in your posts here on YourVids. You can also sell your photosets in your Boutique on YourVids for an extra opportunity at some passive income. You can throw on some music and get yourself in the "content creator headspace" during this time to help easily slide into your sexy persona (if you have a persona.)
  2. Use The Time You're Already Shoot-Ready to Film Pending Orders ➡️ If you're constantly working and fulfilling "fast turn-over" orders like Dick Ratings or Fan Signs, then you're probably not giving yourself a decent amount of time to relax and enjoy a break which is bad for your mental health! Fast turn-over sales are attractive to offer as a creator because fans often feel it's more personalized, intimate, and better connects them with you but if you're offering them same-day (and you're not filming full-length content every day) then you're putting yourself in a position to waste resources (yes, doing full glam just for a quick 2 minute Dick Rating counts as resource loss on that makeup) and putting a heavy activity load on yourself that can cause stress.
Creating a queue for orders to fulfill and having a 3 day to 1 week (or even longer if you have a lot of traffic) can help alleviate that "same-day stress" and also provide you the opportunity to cut down on resource loss by utilizing times you're already ready for work to get those pending orders done.
  3. Warm Up with Short Form Content ➡️ Another way to get more marketing materials on your shoot day is to set aside 10-20 minutes before every shoot to make some fun, sexy, or silly short form video content. Short form vertical video content is a great piece of marketing material and can be used across popular social media applications like YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels, and TikTok. It's another great opportunity to test out your camera angles and camera settings while also creating a re-usable marketing video that you can utilize across many locations.
  4. Set Up a "BTS Camera" ➡️ If you have an extra camera (you can even use your phone) then you can set it up on a tripod somewhere off to the side and record your process from taking your photoset, recording your short form content, all the way to creating your video. Fans love to get a look behind-the-scenes and this content works great on fan club or subscription based platforms as timeline posts to show a more in-depth look into your personality and the fun you have while creating content. You can also move your extra BTS camera around while you shoot your video for extra angles that can be spliced in and add to the interactivity of your video.
  5. Keep The Camera Rolling for Outtakes ➡️ Just like fans love behind-the-scenes, they also enjoy seeing your outtakes and funny mistakes. Blooper style videos (like this Bloopers free video by KimberleyJX) show your fans your personality and your ability to "roll with the punches," as well as highlights the hard work that goes into content creation through extra takes and the silly "whoops" moments that come when following a script. If you're worried about keeping the camera rolling through the mistakes making the editing process harder - you can develop an easily identifiable hand motion that you do after you make a mistake (mine is a combination of spirit fingers and jazz hands) so that you'll easily catch it when scrubbing through during the editing process.
  6. Create a Short and Sweet "Thank You" Video ➡️ After you've completed your filming of the video, you can create a short and sweet video (10 seconds or so) saying "Thank you so much for buying this video, I had a really good time making it!" that you send to fans when they buy the video from your store. It enhances the personalization and intimacy between you and your buyers and feels less "cold" than them purchasing a video and not hearing from you. If this seems like too much work to organize (create folders with all your videos and stuff your "Thank You" video in the same folder as your original video and it is way easier) then messaging to say "Thank You!" without a video attached still goes a long way.
  7. Create Extended Endings for Your Video ➡️ A fun way to get more content from your video is to make an extended or "secret ending" that you'll post some time after you drop the original video. You're able to use this piece of content to reach out to buyers of the original content and upsell this new special ending. If you're a creator that does a lot of themed porn with story-lines and plot points then you'll be able to adapt to the extended ending idea pretty easily as it'll just require an expansion of your original script that you can utilize to add a new twist to the story that you're telling. 8. Make GIFs From Your Content ➡️ Making GIFs from your content is a great way to stretch your content and create fun Boutique items. You can sell "GIF Reaction Packs" in your Boutique that allow your fans to utilize funny or porny GIFs of you within their posts on social media (make sure you watermark them!) You can also use the GIFs within your marketing through on-site posts on YourVids, messaging, or on social media. GIF marketing does especially well on social media sites like Reddit and you can pair it with an account on RedGIFs to get extra attention to your GIF and content. 9. Create Extended Previews ➡️ You can create extended previews of your video content to use as timeline posts on subscription based websites or as posts on tube sites. It will upsell the full-length video to fans and help cross promote your YourVids profile on the other websites that you use for marketing or for subscriptions while providing you with additional content for keeping your subscription sites active or content for generating ad-revenue on tube platforms.
  10. Break Your Video Into Multiple Parts ➡️ If you create very long videos (in the 30+ minute range) then it may be worthwhile to consider breaking your content up into multiple parts. Fans that get hooked onto the first video are more likely to grab the follow-up but it also creates content that is more easily divided into specific niches. It increases the marketing potential for the video because you'll cross promote the additional parts within your video description and by breaking it into multiple parts, you're able to get more "tag real estate" across all parts of the video.
For example: If you have a 30+ minute long boy/girl sex video then you can segment it out into: the foreplay and the blowjob (part 1), the sex in doggystyle position (part 2), and if you are still going strong after part 2 with another position then the sex in whatever position you're in and the cumshot/creampie (part 3.)
Rather than only using 10 tags for that single video with lots of moving parts, you could now have a 3 piece video that advertises its other parts in the description and covers a total of 30 tags across the site. At 30+ minutes, you can divide that video up into 3 ten minute parts, and price each one at a lower cost than what the 30+ minute video would have been so the video price is more obtainable for a wider range of viewers.

Only Take What Sticks

There is no "perfect formula" to content creation and creators can be successful by finding what works the best for them and their own brand. The 10 tips aren't required for success but they can be a fun way to experiment with your current workflow to see what sticks and feels good for you and for your fans.
