Embracing your Sexuality as an LGBTQ+ Performer for Pride Month

YourVids celebrates the creators embracing their sexuality this Pride Month!

It's Pride Month and I've been thinking nonstop about what it really means to own your sexuality. For a lot of creators in the adult industry and here on YourVids, stepping in front of the camera is more than just content creation - it's about unlocking personal levels of self love and sexual freedom. Many creators have similar stories of starting in sex work mildly confused and sometimes even rooted in survival but over time discovering that this community is a judgement and shame-free space that encourages self expression. Throughout that journey you get the opportunity to learn more about yourself and give yourself permission to feel sexy, to try new things, and to say yes to sides of yourself you may have kept under wraps before.

The Adult Industry Helps Creators Feel Safe and Accepted

The adult industry entices you to get intimate with your own desires in a way most jobs never will. It teaches you about negotiating boundaries, communicating what feels good, and celebrating yourself in ways that unlock newfound self confidence. Pride is more than just rainbows and parades (although, we love rainbows and parades), it's about being proud of who you are and in our industry specifically, using our platforms to show our support and love to our community and encourage them to be who they are. Sexuality is a spectrum and working as an adult creator gives many individuals the opportunity to journey into self discovery in a safe space where they feel accepted and loved. I reached out to some creators on YourVids to find out how working as independent adult content creators helped them embrace their sexuality, and here's what they had to say.

KalieKitten: “After I turned 18 I kind of always struggled with my hyper sexuality being accepted and used promiscuity as a coping mechanism, but after finding sex work, specifically camming and content creating, I finally have a healthy place to channel my hyper sexuality and explore my kinks without judgement or criticism, and it truly lets me be myself.”

BubblyPussy: "Joining the adult industry ended up being the best decision I've ever made. It allows me to be creative in ways I never would have before and being fully able to express myself has been so freeing. Before this, I was working a job that was not the right fit and completely drained my energy. Now I'm working for myself with the freedom to really make it my own and with much more self confidence."

AfterDarkCeCe: "I've always been a more sexual person, I would find myself daydreaming about sexual scenarios at the most random of times. I used to write smut about it but found it didn't really capture what I pictured, so I thought why write about it when I can do it? Watching my sexual ideas come to life through my videos makes me feel so accomplished and proud of myself, it's even better when I make other peoples fantasies come true."

Capi and Bull: "Creating adult content together helped us become more confident, open, and connected both personally and creatively. Embracing our sexuality allowed us to build something authentic as a couple while connecting with an audience that appreciates real chemistry and passion!"
