I also feel like I have to invest a lot of money into any niche before I pop off in it, so doing a kink that actually entertains me helps with the feeling of loss when things might not actually go the way you expected. Having immediate accessibility matters too; I am kind of a tech nerd, so I have slowly collected gear that makes recording a lot more possible on me, I have a space specifically set up for recording and streaming, and I have different table cloths and backgrounds I can use to make my room look different. Recording with a camera made what I was doing in my niche a lot more possible, since files are stored on an SD card and easily editable. Otherwise, food-play requires so many long videos, I would go insane having to keep storage on my phone all the time! However, cameras and external gear is definitely an investment that may or may not pay off, so I emphasize that it took me a lot of saving and time to get everything I use, and for some people, these things aren't as useful to them!”
