Lock In: It's Game(r) Time

YourVids creators xvampgutz and Awesome Studios talk about their experiences working as adult creators who bring gaming into their porn.

The gamer niche: cosplay of the characters you actually main, flirting in voice chat after a carried match, the "distracted during a boss fight" setup that Steve says everyone has already filmed is crowded, which is exactly why personality is the thing that sells in it. We got the chance to chat with xvampgutz and Awesome Studios about their experiences working within the adult industry and on YourVids as content creators who bring gaming into their porn. One of them mains Overwatch, the other runs a fake job interview series, and neither of them has any interest in copying what's already out there.

Introduce yourself!

xvampgutz: "Hi! I'm Ellie, but online I'm known as xvampgutz. A few fun facts about me: I own 3 cats and 7 chickens, I'm a total book nerd, and I'm a massive gamer! You can usually catch me either roaming in Red Dead Redemption 2 or sweating on the objective in Overwatch. When I'm not creating content, there's a 99% chance I'm gaming on PC or Switch, reading a novel, or hanging out outside with my tiny little animal crew."

Awesome Studios: "I'm Steve Awesome. I'm a full-time adult content creator, part-time professional over-thinker, and occasional microwave chef. Fun facts about me: I once tried to do a 'serious, artistic shoot' and accidentally knocked over the camera, the lighting equipment and my dignity in under 30 seconds. It's now my most-viewed clip. You're welcome. My search history is 50% 'NSFW gamer content ideas' and 50% 'can I pull a muscle from sneezing too hard.' I own more robes than a retired wizard. I've never met a mirror I didn't high-five. So yeah. I'm Steve Awesome. Try not to fall in love. Or do. I don't control your emotions."

What is your favorite part about working as an adult content creator?

xvampgutz: "My favorite part is being able to express myself creatively and build a world around my personality, style, and fantasies. It's really rewarding to be able to connect with people who genuinely enjoy my vibe and support what I do and create."

Awesome Studios: "Oh man... picking a favorite part is like asking someone to choose their favorite candy, except the someone is me and the candy is porn. Honestly? I love the whole process. It starts with writing the scene, where I sit there like some kind of misunderstood genius, whispering 'this is cinema' while typing something that will absolutely not win an Oscar, but might earn a very specific kind of one-handed applause. Then there's casting AKA the 'hiring incredibly talented female performers while trying to act like a professional and not a guy who just said "awesome" three times in one email.' It's a delicate balance. Shooting the video? That's where the magic happens. Lights, camera, me trying to remember blocking while also remembering... other important things. It's basically athletic performance meets improv theater with a sprinkle of 'please don't trip over that lighting equipment again, Steve.' Then editing in Adobe Premiere - my toxic love affair. I go from 'I am a creative visionary' to 'why is this clip 0.3 seconds off and ruining my entire life?' But when it all comes together? Chef's kiss. And finally writing the description? The true final boss. Crafting something spicy enough to get attention but clean enough to pass the 'Don't Use These Words' test on the first try? That's not writing - that's wizardry. I've seen people break there. So yeah, my favorite part? All of it. It's storytelling, problem-solving and just enough absurdity to tip the scale in my favor of getting a sale."

What is your favorite video you've ever created and why is it your favorite?

xvampgutz: "Probably my video titled 'POV: You Carried Our Match, So I Reward You on Webcam' here on YourVids! The premise is super playful and intimate: we're gaming together, laughing in voice chat, and after you carry us to the win, I turn on my webcam just for you. You were such a good teammate, so you deserve a little victory reward! I get flirty, teasing, and way too grateful as I put on a private little show while you sit back and enjoy your prize. It was so much fun blending that post-match hype with a flirty, cozy one-on-one vibe."

Awesome Studios: "Oh, that's easy! Texas Jobs For Hands. That series is a weird, slightly unhinged, probably-shouldn't-exist-but-I'm-glad-it-does offspring. So picture this: it looks like your classic casting couch setup. You've got the couch, the interview vibe, me sitting there like I definitely have my life together (I don't), asking questions like this is a totally legitimate job opportunity. But then? Plot twist! It's not a casting couch. Nope. It's a job interview... specifically for hands. Hands doing things they wouldn't normally be doing at a place of employment. That's the role. That's the gig. LinkedIn has yet to recognize the position, but we're pioneers out here. What I love about it is how it flips the whole expectation on its head. People think they know what they're about to watch, and then suddenly it's like, 'Wait... is this man seriously conducting a professional interview about... hand-related employment?' Yes. Yes, I am. With full commitment. The performers absolutely lean into it too, which makes it even better. There's this hilarious mix of improv, awkward 'interview' energy, and me trying to keep a straight face while asking questions that should never exist in a normal HR setting. It's comedy, it's creativity, it's just the right amount of absurd. And honestly? It's one of those ideas where I finished the first shoot and thought, 'This is either genius... or I've finally lost it.' So yeah. Texas Jobs For Hands. Come for the interview. Stay because you're confused. Leave questioning your career path."

If you had an unlimited budget and a full scale movie team to create a video, what type of video would you make?

xvampgutz: "If I had an unlimited budget, I'd pull off the ultimate 'Naughty Outlaw' themed photoshoot day on a gorgeous, fully built dusty western backlot set. I'd love to go all out with high-production frontier aesthetics, vintage saloons, leather and corset gear, a custom WANTED poster shoot with my handle on it, and epic props designed to make me look like the most dangerous, wanted outlaw in the territory."

Awesome Studios: "Oh man... unlimited budget? Full movie crew? You just gave Steve Awesome access to Hollywood-level bad decisions. I hope you're ready. I'm making a full-blown parody of Back to the Future. Like, cinematic, dramatic lighting, sweeping score, way too much fog for no reason. We're talking serious filmmaking immediately derailed by my inability to behave like a normal person. I'd have my version of Marty McFly. Let's call him 'Party N. MyFly' for legal reasons. Accidentally travel back in time and instead of trying to fix the space-time continuum, he's just... way too enthusiastic about hooking up with literally everyone in 1955. Lorraine? Yep. Her friends? Also yes. The waitresses at Lou's café? Suddenly this is the most popular diner in cinematic history. The female attendees of the Enchantment Under the Sea dance? Bring me everyone! And the whole thing would play it completely straight. Dramatic close-ups. Emotional music. Dick Brown (again a name change for legal reasons) yelling about timelines while I'm clearly not helping the timeline at all. And the best part? I'd still insist on writing the script myself, sitting there like, 'This is art,' while the actual professional writers quietly question their life choices. So yeah. Big budget, time travel, comedy and just enough 'what am I watching?' energy."

What advice would you give to performers looking to create content within the gamer niche?

xvampgutz: "My biggest advice is to genuinely focus on the games and characters you truly love, and just let yourself have fun with it. Don't take yourself too seriously or try to be overly perfect."

Awesome Studios: "Keep it simple: if you're jumping into the 'Gamer' niche, just know you're not the first player to spawn in. That theme has been done. Every console, every cosplay, every 'I got distracted during a boss fight' scenario - you name it, it's probably already out there. So your real job? Don't copy the meta. Break it. Think outside the box. Twist the concept. Add personality, humor, or some weird little angle that makes people go, 'Okay... I haven't seen that before.' Originality is what gets people to click, but more importantly, it's what makes them remember you after they've shut their laptop lid as their girlfriend walks into the kitchen unexpectedly. Anyone can press start. Not everyone creates a new game."

Do you have any exciting upcoming projects, collabs, or video releases?

xvampgutz: "Yes! I'm always working on new themed shoots and setups. For the rest of the year, my main focus is leveling up my gaming cosplay shoots, especially bringing a lot more Marvel Rivals and Overwatch looks to life."

Awesome Studios: "Short answer: I've got way too many ideas and not enough agents of chaos - I mean, collaborators - to bring them all to life. Living in Houston, the talent pool can be a bit... selective. And let's be real - Gen Z performers today have options. Like, a full buffet. They don't necessarily need to sign up with some Gen X guy asking, 'Hey, wanna film a fun concept video while getting boinked?' That said, every now and then you find those absolute legends who are down to jump onto the Awesome Studios set and just go for it. Those are the projects that actually make it out of the chat and onto the screen. So yeah. Ideas? Plenty. Execution? Let's just say... it's gotten harder lately. No pun intended."

If you had to pick only 3 kinks or categories and create videos pertaining to those for the rest of your career, what would they be and why?

xvampgutz: "I'd definitely pick gaming character cosplay, immersive roleplays, and fantasy toys. Combining cosplay with wild fantasy toys is honestly my favorite sweet spot. Getting into character as a heroine or villain while testing my limits with boss-level monster toys makes the fantasy ten times more intense, messy, and fun to push through."

Awesome Studios: "Only three? Wow, you're really putting me on a creative diet here. Alright, if I had to lock it in: 1. The 'older guy / younger woman webcam' vibe. It's simple, it's flexible, and it lives or dies on personality. It's basically improv with a camera - low setup, high entertainment and just enough fun to keep things interesting every single time. 2. Jobs For Hands. That's my weird genius corner. It's funny, it's different, and it lets me lean all the way into the whole 'is this man serious right now?' energy. Plus, I never run out of ridiculous questions to ask at the interview, which is honestly concerning. 3. 'Adult Stars in Cars.' Think coffee-in-cars energy... but make it like a hook-up strategy game. Different cars, different locations, different vibes, always a little unpredictable. Can we fit in the back seat of this Chevy Nova? What positions are we limited to? Why won't the convertible top hold us in reverse cowgirl position? Who left these French fries on the floor?! Why these three? Because they all give me room to play. Different settings, different tones, and most importantly, they don't box me into doing the same exact thing over and over. Also, let's be honest? If I'm stuck with only three, at least one of them has to involve me pretending I'm running a completely legitimate business."

What is your favorite hobby outside of creating content?

xvampgutz: "Outside of creating content, my favorite hobbies are gaming (of course), reading and gardening. I also do scrapbooking and drawing art from time to time."

Awesome Studios: "Outside of content? Honestly, something way less crazy and a lot more grounded: I like being involved in efforts to raise money for research into diseases that don't have cures yet. I know... not very 'on brand' for a guy who spends most of his time coming up with sexy video ideas. But at the end of the day, I'm still human. I've been lucky to have my health, and not everyone gets that deal. So if I can put some time or energy toward helping move the needle, even a little, that actually means a lot to me. It's a nice reminder that there's a world outside of cameras, edits, and me trying to avoid knocking over the lighting equipment with my ding dong."

If you had to pick one food dish to describe your personality, what would it be?

xvampgutz: "Probably something like strawberry shortcake with a little hidden spice. Sweet, cute, soft-looking, but with a surprise kick. Very pretty, very tempting, and a little bit naughty and chaotic."

Awesome Studios: "Oh that's easy - Kung Pao Chicken. On the surface, it's got all the things you expect: chicken, sauce, a little spice, everything seems pretty normal, right? You're like, 'Yeah, I get this. I understand what I'm dealing with.' And then? Boom. Peanuts. Out of nowhere. Unexpected. Somehow it works, but you didn't see it coming."

What's a fetish or kink you haven't tried yet that you really want to try?

xvampgutz: "I'd love to explore more elaborate roleplay where I lean into being mean while dominant. I'm usually more naturally submissive or kind when dominating, so stepping into that bossier, meaner, sharper and more intimidating energy feels really exciting to me."

Awesome Studios: "I've mostly been a one-on-one, keep it simple kind of guy. But if I had to pick something I haven't really explored yet? It'd be going bigger. Like, multiple performers, more moving parts, more personalities in the mix. Just full-on 'how did this turn into a group project?' scenarios. Not even gonna pretend it's some deep artistic reason either - part of it is just curiosity. I've spent so much time dialing in that 1-on-1 dynamic that stepping into something more crowded feels like unlocking a new difficulty level. Will it be smooth? Probably not. Will it be a logistical puzzle? Absolutely."

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?

xvampgutz: "I'd love to travel to Scotland or Germany! I'm a massive history nerd and completely obsessed with old architecture. Getting to explore medieval fortresses, mossy stone castles, gothic cathedrals, and cobblestone towns that look like they were plucked straight out of a classic RPG or gothic western tale would be an absolute dream."

Awesome Studios: "Japan. No hesitation. Not even in a deep, 'find myself spiritually' way - I'm going straight for the fun stuff. The arcades, the theme parks, the whole 'how is this place so much cooler than everywhere else?' feels. I wanna hit the Disney parks, wander into arcades and just soak in all that over-the-top creativity. And yeah, maybe even check out the parkour scene and people-watch like, 'okay, everyone here is living in 2035 and I just got here.' Basically: I'm going for the amusements, staying for the inspiration, and probably coming back with way too many ideas and zero chill."

If you could time travel and talk to yourself on the first day of your adult career, what would you tell your past self?

xvampgutz: "I'd tell myself to trust my instincts, set boundaries early, and not compare myself to everyone else. I'd remind myself to just go for it, because no matter what you choose to do, someone will always have something to say. You can't make everyone happy, so you might as well build the career and create the content that feels right to you."

Awesome Studios: "I'd walk up, give past Steve a high five, and say, 'Hey! Maybe plan just a little before you hit record.' Because yeah - some of those early videos? Let's just say... enthusiasm was doing a lot of heavy lifting. But honestly? I wouldn't change much. That go-in-blind energy is part of how I figured everything out. So yeah! Plan a bit more but don't lose the fun. Turns out, the mess is part of the magic."
