Some creators make porn but these creators make porn AND let you tag along for everything in between. 🎥 Vlog-style adult content covers a lot of ground (day-in-the-life footage, travel diaries, the chatty bits before and after a scene, the no-makeup "feeling bleh but filming anyway" days, and what one of our interviewees Sage calls "goonblogging," which is exactly what it sounds like), but the twist is always the same: fans get a more intimate experience instead of the polished and edited ten minutes that we sometimes deliver in clips, and the porny bit is still very much included. We got the chance to chat with KimberleyJX, Summer Fox, and PornBrainedSage about their experiences working within the adult industry and on YourVids as content creators who bring that vlog energy into their porn. Introduce yourself!

KimberleyJX: "Hey everyone, I'm Kimberley from England. I've been creating videos for nearly a decade now, but I've actually been in the adult industry for around 13 years. I started out as a webcam girl, then moved into presenting on adult television. Here in the UK, we have phone-sex chat lines that are shown on TV. As a viewer, you can see me on screen, but you only hear the full conversation if you call in. I spent years doing those shows across different channels, and that's really where I built my loyal fan base. These days I still hop on cam at the weekends, but my main focus is making videos. I absolutely love creating custom content and all kinds of wild, out-of-the-ordinary ideas like my recent 'Blair Bitch' one. When the British weather decides to behave (which isn't very often!), you'll find me out hiking and soaking up the outdoors or gardening. When it's grey and miserable, which is most of the time, I'm usually gaming. I'm not the greatest at it, but I have so much fun playing with my fans. Oh, and as a lot of you already know, I have a full-blown obsession with Shrek. I'm actually planning to film something properly Ogre-themed very soon… so stay tuned for that!"

Summer Fox: "Hi, I'm Summer Fox, I'm an English creator who also speaks Dutch and is part Indonesian. I love to travel and also love board games and making board games in my spare time."

PornBrainedSage: "My name is Sage! I've been a content creator for about 1 1/2 years. Aside from adult entertainment, one of my passions is music! I trained as a classical singer for seven years, and I still write music and play some piano and ukulele. I am a tarot reader - I've been practicing reading cards for about 8 years."

What is your favorite part about working as an adult content creator?

KimberleyJX: "My favorite part has to be all the friends I've made along the way, discovering fetishes and kinks I've not had the knowledge about and forming friendships all over the world. Also bringing interesting custom videos to reality. I try to take their ideas and make something that they want but excel in how they anticipated it, that's what I thrive for."

Summer Fox: "My favourite part is the community. I love the fans and friends I have met along the way and if I hadn't experienced the support I have, I don't think I would enjoy this job half as much as I do. Every day there will be something that someone says to make me smile or laugh and to remind me to keep being creative and enjoy every day."

PornBrainedSage: "I love the creative outlet that I've gained via adult content creation. I've surprised myself with all of the different ideas that I've been able to come up with and execute from the comfort of my bedroom, it's done wonders for my self confidence in all parts of my life. I also enjoy interacting with all of my subscribers / people who support me. I've gotten the chance to interact with really funny and interesting people, clients and other SWs, doing this kind of work."

What is your favorite video you've ever created and why is it your favorite?

KimberleyJX: "That's really hard to pick one favorite, I have so many! But I love doing porn series such as 'Creepshow' and 'Black Mirror'. If you're familiar with the Television series 'Black Mirror' I did a spoof episode called 'Bot Step-Mom' in which the step-mom was turned into a robot, who would do as they were made to via an app, I actually coded my own iPhone App in order to control myself, that was really fun."

Summer Fox: "I think my favourite video is The Bet which is a cuckold custom I received in the first few days of creating my accounts. I was very early on in things and had no idea what to expect, I didn't even know what a cuckold was, but it was a cuckold custom with 5 mins of talking to my husband about a bet my boss had made with him, where the winner 'got' me, then 5 mins of boygirl doggy and finally 5 mins of me talking about the experience and why I had decided my husband should be a cuck. I love it because it's not only my best seller, but also because it taught me a new thing and it was the first time in a long time I had felt like I could use my acting abilities in a new way. When starting my accounts, I hadn't thought about how it would entangle with my love of acting and it really inspired me to keep taking on roleplay scenarios and to keep trying new things."

PornBrainedSage: "My 'ur first tarot reading' video! In the video, I do a roleplay and give the reader a tarot reading, with a more erotic twist. It gave me an opportunity to mesh a real life interest with my porn, and it came out beautifully."

If you had an unlimited budget and a full scale movie team to create a video, what type of video would you make?

KimberleyJX: "A full length parody of a classic movie, something like The Goonies - On the search for 'One Eyed Willy' would be super cool. Being able to recreate all the sets and props, hire other performers that would be my dream come true!"

Summer Fox: "I would make parodies. I love fun, punny titles that make people laugh and I've always wanted to do a C3PHoe video. I also think I'd make a tv show about my life and the industry to try and show the world the real side of the industry, rather than the constant negativity shown on screen."

PornBrainedSage: "I'd make a super long video of my entire day, where a crew follows me around and films me masturbating in between regular tasks. It'd be the most accurate depiction of what my days are like, basically."

What advice would you give to performers looking to create porn vlogs?

KimberleyJX: "Whether you're just starting up or have been in the industry for years, just be yourself! Let people know who you really are. Vlogs are fun to read because they show you, not just the polished performer."

Summer Fox: "Be yourself and trust yourself. It's so easy to put on a character and to try to vlog like someone else, but ultimately the fans will know you aren't being genuine and you will tire of the 'character' you've created. If I do a vlog and I'm feeling rubbish, with no make up, I'll say that and I'll still do the video, and those become some of my most viewed videos, because it's genuine and helps to build a genuine connection."

PornBrainedSage: "'Be yourself' sounds like basic advice, but it's the best advice anyone could ever give you. Be yourself proudly and unapologetically. And experiment with every idea, even if it seems silly at first! You'd be surprised at how cool the end result could turn out."

Do you have any exciting upcoming projects, collabs, or video releases?

KimberleyJX: "I have lots of very fun videos upcoming. I'm working on some very special customs, longer stories and some parodies you wouldn't think I could make into porn. I'm actually in the middle of a cool love triangle taboo video and a step-mom who has been corrupted by the devil, both super exciting. Some upcoming projects include a Dungeons and Dragons themed Succubus Movie and more!"

Summer Fox: "Oh my gosh, I have so much coming up! I have 500 unreleased videos that I need to schedule and upload, and I'm seeing lots of friends to collab with too. I'm also going to start something exciting that I haven't got a name for yet, but it's essentially a 'dick diary' where I go and work with new creators and try new things and vlog it so the world can see my real life experience."

PornBrainedSage: "I'm working on a video where there are multiples of me on one screen, in one room. I want it to be really hot and overwhelming to the senses. It's a lot of editing work, so I can't say when it will be coming out just yet!"

If you had to pick only 3 kinks or categories and create videos pertaining to those for the rest of your career, what would they be and why?

KimberleyJX: "Roleplay - Because there's such a vast amount of role play themed videos, I really enjoy being able to roleplay a character. Taboo - Again such a vast array of taboo themes you can portray and I really enjoy making them! Cosplay - With Cosplay there are so many hot characters in movies and video games, the possibilities are endless. I can be a hot Lara Croft to an Ogre!"

Summer Fox: "That's such a hard question. I love them all. I think I would have to say the buttcrack and the bouncy castle kinks would be two of them, because those are two communities that have massively supported me since the start of my career and then I'd go with Travel Vlogging as my third. I love going to see new places and showing different corners of the world in new and sexy ways to people who might otherwise never experience what I am experiencing."

PornBrainedSage: "1. The solo category: I don't really do many collabs except with close friends, anyway. I'm really introverted, so it wouldn't bother me to do it forever. 2. JOIs: It's a really versatile category because the formula is essentially the same, but you can play any character you want to make it interesting. 3. I don't know if it counts, but I just call it 'goonblogging': I like recording my masturbation sessions and just uploading those. It's personal and real, which I think is what makes it so sexy."

What is your favorite hobby outside of creating content?

KimberleyJX: "I love hiking, getting outdoors, seeing nature and exploring. My other big hobby is gaming, I love MMORPGs such as Final Fantasy XIV Online and Dead by Daylight."

Summer Fox: "My favourite hobby is Scrabble. I spend too much time playing it on my own, but I love creating new words and trying to best my own score. I've been trying to think of a way to make it sexy but I'm not quite there yet, I'm sure I'll work it out one day."

PornBrainedSage: "Collecting content! I've been hyper fixated on physical porn from the 90s-2000s, so I'm slowly building a collection of porn DVDs and magazines from that era."

If you had to pick one food dish to describe your personality, what would it be?

KimberleyJX: "I'd say I'm like a burrito, pretty self-contained and chill on the outside, but once you get to know me there's a whole mix of spice, and questionable decisions inside."

Summer Fox: "I think I would say Sushi, because I'm raw and authentic as well as exotic, but there are also lots of different ways I can be to make myself tasty to everyone. Like the acting side of me, I can change things up in lots of different ways, but at the core, I'm always the same dish you know and love."

PornBrainedSage: "Sushi. There's hundreds of different ingredient combinations you can put into a sushi roll, so I think it really speaks to the versatile Sagittarius thing I have going on."

What's a fetish or kink you haven't tried yet that you really want to try?

KimberleyJX: "Ohh this is a really hard one because I feel like I've done such a wide variety of kinks and fetishes but I still have so many more categories to do. I've been asked to explore VORE which I haven't actually done yet and maybe push my green screen and editing a little further."

Summer Fox: "I haven't ever tried anal properly and that's something I'm quite intrigued about but want to take my time with to make it special. It looks like a lot of stretching and preparation but I've got lots of friends so I'll be sure to ask them for advice before I bite the bullet."

PornBrainedSage: "I'm already a huge voyeur at heart, but I haven't been in any real life situations to really explore it. I'd love to go to one of those sex theaters and just watch people go at it."

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?

KimberleyJX: "I would love to explore parts of America which aren't tourist spots, I'm a huge fan of the outdoors as I stated earlier, so if I could I'd love to venture every state in America that would be amazing. I love the look of the national parks I would love to be able to hike every one!"

Summer Fox: "Australia or New Zealand. I want to go and see them both but they are super far away and also pretty expensive. I'm lucky enough to have been to Japan twice and would go back there in a heartbeat, it's my favourite place in the world but it would be nice to go visit down under and see what life is like there."

PornBrainedSage: "I really want to go to Istanbul and see all of the stray cats."

If you could time travel and talk to yourself on the first day of your adult career, what would you tell your past self?

KimberleyJX: "Make sure you manage time well, it can be easy to get yourself caught up with everything, your health is important. Take notes - using a notepad for scripts really helps! Don't listen to people who try to get you down, focus on doing projects you enjoy and have fun! The greatest part of making content is having fun with it!"

Summer Fox: "Don't doubt yourself. You beat yourself up a lot for not being good enough, but you'll find people that will push you through and support you in more ways than you can imagine and you will realise that you are the amazing things they say about you. You spend too much time putting yourself down, and you will learn that putting that energy into something positive will help you to spread your wings and to find a career and a community that will change you in all the best ways. Also, check that your microphone is actually plugged in when you film videos or you'll have to redo the whole hour's worth of footage that has no sound because you didn't plug the mic in properly."

PornBrainedSage: "Keep your content organized and backed up! I would definitely warn her about the random Wednesday where I couldn't find half of my videos from last year."
