How To Use the Custom Link Slug Feature

A lesser known but still loved feature on YourVids is the "Custom Link Slug" feature available on your videos, boutique items, and bundles. Custom link slugs allow you to "prettify" your URL so instead of having a boring link with a bunch of random numbers or words, you get to create the perfect link that describes your content and is easy for you to remember to make your marketing for your content easier. 

How to Create Your Custom Link Slug 

Under Advanced Settings on your video, boutique item, or bundle listing you'll find a section titled "Custom URL Slug." You're able to set this to anything you'd like! Lowercase letters, numbers, and hyphens are supported. Using this feature, you're able to personalize your listing a little bit more! You can include things like your username, the specific video title, or (since YourVids is still relatively new) claim "high value" keywords for your content that haven't been utilized yet! 

• Custom URLs Help Search Engine Results: The URL of your content or boutique items does play a role in it's positioning on search engines because direct matching with keywords in the URL of a source is more likely to return higher in search results. This means that if you utilize custom URLs and make sure they're keyword rich and relevant to you and your branding, you'll be able to ensure when fans look you up online that your YourVids profile and content is showing up at the top. 
• Custom Slugs are More Memorable for Fans: When you set a custom URL slug for your content that has keywords involving what takes place in the video or words from the video title itself, it makes it easier for your customers to come back and buy it later if they weren't able to grab it when they first looked because if they decide to search it in their search bar it'll generally auto-populate as a recently visited page in their browser. 
• Increase Brand Consistency with Custom Links: Custom links to your content, boutique items, or bundles are also just a great way to establish consistency in your branding when you utilize specific ways to generate your links. Adding your username or "brand name" to your URL is a great way to tie the keywords associated with your content in with your likeness.
