A Perfect (Your)10 - YourVids Perk Program
Your10 is a perks program on YourVids for the fans who spend the most on you. How it works, what to offer, and one upsell you might be missing.
TLDR (or, I guess in this case, too long not going to read, but TLNGTR isn't quite as cute): Your10 is a perks program on YourVids between creators and their fans. A fan adds you to their Your10, you set the monthly spending minimum that goes with it (the lowest you can set it is $20), and when they hit that number they get whatever perks you wrote down for them if they opt-in. You pick the goal, you pick the perk(s), and you send it out yourself. The rest of this blog post is the long version, because "the sky is the limit" is kind of true (unless you're an astronaut) and also... not very helpful when you're staring at an empty text box wondering what to offer to your most dedicated fans.
What Your10 actually is
Your10 is built for the fans who already buy most of what you post and want to go a bit further and it gives you a way to hand something back without setting up a whole separate thing to manage. Before this post gets any longer I want to give credit where it's due, because the concept behind Your10 didn't start with our team, it started with squeezypeach. She opened a thread six months ago in the YourVids Community with the Top 10 idea she'd been pitching for about ten years: every member picks ten favorite creators, and those creators get boosted for that member across the whole site, with their posts at the top of the feed, direct notifications for new videos and boutique drops, and their DMs highlighted. That's pretty much exactly what shipped. The perks side is hers too. She floated creators offering a discount or a free video to the fans who picked them, then spent the rest of the thread refining it with everyone who replied. Perks stay optional and never automated, creators set their own spending threshold (she used $100 as her example) and decide whether to reward anyone at all, and the whole thing works as a little something extra for your best fans instead of a fanclub with a monthly fee... she even made a mockup. So, W squeezypeach. 🙌
Her idea, YourVids applied. Here's how it works: A fan adds you to their Your10, which is exactly what it sounds like: every fan gets ten slots, and you take up one of them. On your side, you've set a monthly spending goal and written out what a fan gets for reaching it, and that goal can be anything from $20 up. The perk can be anything too, because the setup is literally a box you type into: a photoset, a video, a promo code, a custom, something only your fans would understand, it's YOUR call. You'll also get a notification every time a fan adds you, so there's no confusion about who's in your Your10 and who isn't.
Perks go out manually, which is the polite way of saying you send them yourself. That's less work than it sounds, and it's the whole reason the program is flexible. You can set up a join perk that you send out when a fan adds you, a perk that goes out on a specific day every month, or both, and you decide what each one is.
What your fans get the second they add you
Before you send a single perk, a few things happen automatically on our end for any fan who adds you to their Your10. Your posts get prioritized in their feed, your messages get a dedicated Your10 filter and badge in their messenger so yours stand out from everyone else's, and they get prioritized notifications about your latest updates. In practice that means your biggest spenders see your new drops first and can find your messages without digging through their inbox.
How to set it up
This part is quick.
- Go to Edit Profile, then Your10 settings.
- Set your monthly spending goal. $20 is the lowest it goes.
- Write out your perks in the box. Say what a fan gets and when they get it (when they add you, on a set day each month, or both), so nobody has to message you asking.
- Check the same Your10 settings page to see which fans have added you. (You'll also get a notification on your bell icon.)
Perk ideas if you keep the goal low
Setting the goal at or close to $20 keeps Your10 within reach for a much bigger chunk of your fans, which is the fun version of this. It also means you'll be sending perks to more people, so it makes sense to offer things you can send out in bulk without it becoming a huge time-sink.
Photosets are the obvious one, and they don't have to be new. A set that's already been sitting on your boutique is a perfectly good join perk, and a monthly set (new or from your back catalog) gives people something to look forward to on a set day. A free video is the other easy one: pick something from your profile and send it out through UrLinks in your creator dashboard. Neither costs you anything extra to produce, and to a fan who spends $20 with you every month, getting a video on top of it feels like a good deal.
Promo codes are slept on. YourVids promo codes are customizable, so you can build a code that only takes money off specific items, whether that's videos, customs, or boutique items. That turns your Your10 into a nudge toward the exact thing you most want to sell, which is a perk for them and a sale for you at the same time. If customs are your bread and butter, a Your10 exclusive discount on customs is a pretty good way to get your best fans ordering them more often.
Perk ideas if you set the goal higher
If your goal is a bigger number (say a fan spending triple or quadruple digits with you a month), the perks should get a bit more personal, because those fans have shown their dedication. This is where the bigger incentives live: a Cameo-style video where you talk to them by name, a 1 to 2 minute video of you moaning their name, or letting them direct a future video (not exactly a custom, but they can pick a niche you already produce and make suggestions for you.) You could give Your10 fans first pick of your custom slots before you open them to everyone else, shoot a monthly fansign photoset, or let them vote on your next video, even if the vote is just a message asking them to pick between two ideas.
What if a fan hits your number but hasn't added you?
Nothing happens. Fans are not added to your Your10 automatically when they hit the spending minimum, they have to add you themselves. Which means some of your best customers are probably spending past your goal every month without ever picking up the perk, and that's an easy upsell if you want it. When you notice a fan is close to your monthly number, a quick message telling them so "you're soooOOOooo close to my Your10 goal this month, if you add me, this month's perk is yours" gives them a reason to make that last purchase now instead of next month. They get a perk they were about to miss, you get the sale, and they're on your list until next month.
A few things worth deciding before you set the number
Whatever number you land on, match the perk to it. A $20 goal with a photoset attached is a good deal for them and no extra work for you. A $400 goal with a photoset attached is a nice bonus since they were spending the money anyway, right... but like, you can add some jazz hands or spirit fingers to that. Obviously, this will fluctuate based on your current pricing system, availability and free time to deliver on perks, etc.
Write the delivery day straight into your Your10 description, because you're the one sending the perks and fans will want to know when to expect them. And pick something you can keep sending every single month without dreading it. A smaller perk that shows up on time beats a bigger one that shows up late, every time.
Is Your10 a subscription or a fanclub?
No. Nobody is paying a monthly fee to access your page. Your10 is a perks program. Your most dedicated fans are already spending on you every month, Your10 gives them a number to aim for, and it gives you a way to say thanks for it in whatever form you want, however you want. If you want to set one up, it's under Edit Profile, then Your10 settings.
